Change of Plans Sherpa Gaun, Kanjim. Old Syprubesi and home.

Day 8 ish ( actually I have lost track :-)

A great sleep. We are staying i at the Tibetan guest house , Sherpagaun with an amazing shower and it feels so GOOD to be clean after 8 days hiking at altitudes and in facilities that I couldn't face showering in.
At Lama hotel we changed routes. We met a local and drank some Tea whilst contemplating the next phase of our route. The drop offs , I was finding hard with the kids.  I had managed to get through the pass into the Langtang valley which was a shaley narrow path with a 100m drop off into the river and a stream right in the middle making it slippy. And I had managed it twice , once up and once down with Lukey on my back.  This was the worst part of the route but I was still nervous as the next two days was cold walk through a tree filled valley with lots of drop offs to navigate.
So we made a plan  to walk back along the right hand side of the valley to Sherpagaun.

The views were beautiful
And the drop offs even more spectacular. I crawled long the rocks and Boyd drank in the views. We really felt on top of the world !!!

Day 10

Not often I can just sit :-)
Tara is playing under a plastic table and Lukey is wandering up and down Syprubesi Old Town chasing chickens over the cobbles, tailed by Boyd. We left a tiny village called Khanjim  this morning after sizing up our hosts cooking capabilities for breakfast and settling on chapatti s and eggs:-)
We started down a 800m decent to Syprubesi old town dodging cows and enjoyed a startling conversation with a midget  displaying marijuana. Tomorrow we get the bus but now I can enjoy masala tea and cake at a community non profit bakery that helps fund the school for Tibetan children. Social Welfare Foundation Sypru Besi run by a really interesting young man who deeply cares about the culture of his villiage and the Tibetian refuges: Nyima Tamang. Sweet

A 7000 plus meter peak above us.

Under command by Luke, we wait for mum, we don't want to lose her he says!

T this drop off continues off a cliff, map indicates 800 m vertical drop!
The view is stunning!

Lukey speeding up his boiled egg cooking process

This guy has summited everest 3 times, he spoke about the work fixing ropes each season. Then when I mentioned we were from New Zealand he talked about how strong Ed and Tensing must have been to lead climb that last section with only 2 of them.
He said they take a team of 10 or 12 to do that part each year to fix new ropes.

A lovely old man I named Yoda, invited us in for ginger tea.

Another careful path, time to focus and hang on to the children!

Two 30kg bags here getting carried for the day  hill. I feel soft!
We finish the day playing Bridges, which requires running to the next bridge. We make great progress here!

Breakfast time in a teahouse.
This man trying to sell hash to us. He said it's healthy for us and creates an appetite?

Spinning wool of course, photo cost 100 rps to take.
